I think the men of the forum should post topless pictures.  Tongue

I don't feel the rules are sexist.  If it became completely lawful to show bare-breasted women on these forums without legal recourse, I'm positive we'd see them. Vice versa in regards to bare-chested men; if it became unlawful, the pec shots would disappear from the forums. AF is acting in it's interest by complying with the existing law.

I would agree with others in suggesting that the issue here is actually whether the existing laws regarding nudity are sexist, rather than AF's observance of/adherence to the law. They break the law, the board comes down, no AF; Seems pretty simple.

I don't how see further limiting what members are permitted to see on a private forum, beyond the the requirements law, could go anywhere towards addressing your actual concerns. It could possibly serve as an "in your face" or a "how ya like them apples?"....IF Atheist Forums were somehow responsible for laws as they exists.

But, they're not.

It just one small slight, it's not important, there are other things more important in this world.

Yes, there are but many little things make bigger issues and also set a precedence for future behaviors. We have seen this in history and now in many ways. Is it wrong to say recognize this one slight and make it right? Is it not beneficial to change the small wrongs before they add up to be big ones? Does equality really happen if we ignore all the small ways in which we are not equal?

It seems to me if you say it doesn't matter then it won't matter to you if it's corrected either.

There's two ways it could be corrected.

1) Either allow pictures of topless women of all ages to be posted anywhere in the forum potentially allowing people to break actual laws beyond forum rules and potentially allowing what would be classed as child pornography onto the forums.

2) Ban all pictures of any breasts.  Practically speaking there would be no point to this whatsoever.

The rule of no nudity already exists. That is not in dispute. The rule does not discriminate.

BUT has it, is it and will it be upheld equally by the mods, is the question to be answered.

"Moooooom! If I can't stay up after 8, then he shouldn't either!" "Will that make you feel better?" "Yaaaaaaaas!"

I find all nipples equally unnecessary, but interesting. I don't want this to become an 18+ forum, though, because some young atheists find support here. So, can't free the female nipple, according to law. I don't see how banning men's nipples on this forum will solve anything. But! I certainly can live without them. Meh.

Were we talking about breastfeeding mommas at Kohls being shamed, I'd complain. Were we talking about school dance rules for girls to ONLY wear dresses to the dance, I'd complain. You bet! Were we talking about men harassing women on the bus while on a power trip, I'd fucken complain. Fuck, I'd even be pissy if the men's room didn't have a diaper changing table. I'm all for free nipples at the beach. I'll move to the shore.

This is a forum that abides by rules. Some rules suck. Want a solution? Gotta nip it in the bud (no pun). This isn't the bud. This is an internet forum with generally open minded traffic. Banning men's nipples will make a small statement once it passes as a new forum rule. After that, nada. But whatever. I'm not desperate for nipples.

IKR, and it's sexist for women to think I want to see their wrinkled baby nozzles in the first place.  Wink

Wait.  Wait.  I demand a re-vote!

And I imagine it exists to the same extent that it exists in normal day to day law in general.

Going back to what I was saying which is that to make everything totally equal you could either allow women of all ages to post topless pictures which would potentially break the law, or ban anyone from posting topless pictures which would have no practical reasons.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
