Just putting that out there.

Yahp... It's right up my street cos my tech collection is very eclectic, cheap and cheerful, and behind the times... give me another ten years and I might get my first i-whatever Wink but I'm perfectly happy with it..

Nope. I'm misremembering. The Mac is £500 or $647 (wow the exchange rate is shit now), but it comes with a 2 year warranty.

Where on earth are you getting Macs for £500? The MacBook Pro I really want is over £2,000. Probably gonna be a long ass time before I get it though.

Shit the MacBooks here are $2400 for a good one. Even the barebones are like $1600. The cheapest Macs you can buy are like $1000. And they are shit compared to what you can get out of a PC for the same cost.

Edit: Unless you're talking about a refurb or a used one.

Refurbished, but it's as good as new and comes with a 2 year warranty. Everything comes with a 2 year warranty there.

This laptop is refurbished. Hell, if you replace the parts the thing is new as far as I an concerned

ETA: $647 refurbished Mac with a 2 year warranty is not bad right?

Well, the specific one I would love to get takes me a little over £2,600 for the highest end rMBP. We're talking new here, obviously.

I bought a laptop refurb once. It made me paranoid. Any issues and I was like---hold on!!! Also it had surface dings. Wasn't worth the price savings, IMO. Toys needs to be shinys and newses.

Bella, if you can I'd recommend getting a computer refurbished. I got a really decent laptop that way with hundreds of pounds off and haven't had a single problem with it. And I was lucky enough to get one with an SSD hardly used so still with a full life ahead of it.

You must be referring to a refurbished 2012 model or something. There's no way you would get a 2015 model for that much.
