I think it would be more accurate to say that every generation has people that do it, not that whole generations do it. It's natural to hate on something you don't partake in, I don't think it has anything to do with age(well, in this case it kind of does because of the Pokemon generation, but you get my point).

Well let's see....over at my school, apparently there is one of these annoying things. People are flooding over to our parking lot, driving around and not paying attention to where they are going. So I guess when they sideswipe a row of students parked cars and then try to blame this stupid game, all will be forgiven, right?
Because after all, they've been taught zero accountability for their actions due to being raised inside a bubble by overprotective parents who were afraid of allowing their kids to get their feelings hurt because they lost a baseball or softball game.

See where this leads to? Twenty years ago, you had a bunch of people decide that kids were too sensitive and somehow wouldn't be able to handle losing at anything. So the adults decided to adopt the "everyone's a winner" mentality so no one would have to be held accountable for raising kids with backbones. Because god forbid a kid have to be upset because their team lost or because they didn't place first in something. So now you have an entire generation or two of spoiled little brats who don't feel like they have to take responsibility for the shit they do wrong. Now, I'm not saying that's every person in the last two generations, but you don't see the majority of older generations acting this way. And so now let's bring some stupid game into the mix of all that. These kids drive around, not paying attention to their surroundings all because they are so focused on finding some imaginary, pixelated creature "in the real world". They damage someone's property or worse, manage to hurt someone and then they're going to go cry to mommy and daddy that it " wasn't their fault".

So tell me, when you get hurt or your property gets damaged by one of these people, are you still going to think those of us who hate this game are being unreasonable? They are coming by my school at a rate of one a minute, coming awfully close to parked cars. Any volunteers here willing to pay for the damage that gets done to the only transportation I have, when one of these brats hits my car while I'm in class and they decide to drive off? Am I being extreme? Nope. Why not? Because I've watched them do this for the last week or two nearly hitting parked cars and I'm sick of it.

... but wouldn't it be better, instead of engaging in slippery slope arguments against the game, to wait and see what happens if a car or person actually gets sideswiped? I don't play the game- with all the creepy stories surrounding it, I'd rather not- but I'm not going to pass judgement on people who might do something wrong as a result of it.

In my anecdotal experience, kids of this generation are much more sensitive to others than when I was growing up. Not to mention what TRJF (I think?) was saying about the largest group playing actually being adults who grew up with Pokemon, not children.

The other day, I was in Walmart (ick), and I saw a guy staring at his phone while walking. An old dude came down an aisle and smashed into the guy. What happened? The young guy apologized profusely and ended up helping the cranky old guy get something off a high shelf. By the end of the exchange the two of them were smiling and laughing with each other.

Look at the news. It's already happening. No need to wait and the arguments aren't exactly slippery since damage is all around us.

Hence my point of "drivers" causing damage. Anyone old enough to possess a driver's license, should have enough common sense to realize there are certain behaviors/actions/responsibilities that come with getting behind the wheel of a two ton machine.

Accidents happen, wah. The same can be said of anything distracting. I have the same problem with entitled, overprotected, shits that you do. The difference being I don't hate a game because it has the potential to cause accidents or become an excuse. It's their fault for not being aware, and people are going to do it regardless.

No one is pissing and moaning. It's called an opinion and when you're our age, you'll do the same thing to those far younger than you.

This game is stupid. Period. And that's my opinion, to which I am perfectly entitled to. No one has to like it and I'm fine with that. But the reality is that of which I already spoke.

Who said you weren't? My opinion on your own is that both you and Maelstrom are pissing and moaning, and I found it annoying since it's the billionth time I've seen someone do it over a game. 

To be fair you aren't the only ones doing it, and like Steel said, every generation does it.

Look, Empress, and everyone else for that matter. I'm twenty. It's a stupid fucking game. There's no way around it. It's just dumb. And it says a lot about the people who play it all day long almost to the point of depressing you. There could be way more fun, intelligent things done with this kind of technology, instead of catching random pokemons. Like a game in which you meet random users of the same thingy and socialize with them, I don't know, I'm not a developer.
