Ex theist.

You know, it might make you feel better to actually say it.

"I am an atheist".

Then maybe you'll realise that you're playing in the same mud we all supposedly are. Maybe you don't even have a problem with that. But if you don't, I wouldn't understand your reluctance to say the actual word.

I don't normally care what people refer to themselves as. It just bothers me when people strawman absolutely everyone and try to set themselves apart on a pedastal that doesn't exist.

A group of people can state they knew some people that saw a man that claimed he was the historic napoleon Bonaparte being run over by a car. Even though I might even question this first/second hand account as empirical evidence, I would certainly discount that their account as empirical evidence that the man was actually the historic Napoleon Bonaparte.

I think that a circumstantial case can be made, that Jesus was the Son of God.  And some of it may be considered empirical evidence (seeing the miracles).

Are you talking about a modern day automobile?   There where steam powered vehicles during Napoleon's time.   But yes, my first question would be, why they thought it was Napoleon Bonaparte.

You are being very dishonest here, you stated "The Gospel is based on empirical evidence as well" the Gospel is based on the Crucifixion of the "Son of God" .... Did you just make that statement to win another argument and hoped it would slip by?

I have asked for the empirical evidence for the Gospel because you said it exists ... not evidence that a some ordinary man was nailed to a cross, this is nothing special in Roman times and isn't the teachings of the Gospel ....

You are now saying "I think that a circumstantial case can be made, that Jesus was the Son of God" .... why are you wasting my time?

As for "steam powered vehicle" question, more of your equivocation  Dodgy a) I explicitly stated the victim CLAIMED he was Napoleon Bonaparte  b) even if it was stated it was a one legged donkey drawn vehicle, their accounts were inconsistent with much stronger historical evidence ...

RE: Speechless
I've gone pretty hard on PP and RR in this thread. I hope I didn't step into rudeness. If I did, I apologize.

I felt the total garbage that was being served up needed to be addressed for the benefit of those following at home.

It's really hard figuring out who is a troll and who isn't on days like this. I'm just staring at things thinking... how... whuu... HUH?

Anyhow. I won't be troubling either of them again.

I have met very sincere religious people. Those monks and their students had a very idealistic and noble goals.

And after meeting such unique personalities, who sacrifice so much for abstract ideals, I simply cannot say - God is a delusion. Quite the opposite, after seeing such sacrifices, im sure now that there is a God.

The problem is that, just like, Lucifer, couldnt bare the weight of idealistic life, I cant even look at It. But it doesnt mean I dont believe it exists.

Honestly, I would like if there is no God, because that way I wont have to possibly answer for all the laziness, lustfulness, greed, anger I have in my life. But at the moment I cannot not believe.

Including you. So you're not angry with your family and friends, you're angry with religious indoctrination.

I use the same model some Christians do. They say "Love the sinner, hate the sin" and I say "Love the religious, hate the religion".

I no longer have anger toward Christians. I understand their sad condition and I have mercy on them.

I understand that. Thanks

To me, atheism is materialism or wish to life comfortably. I wish for comfort.

Theist goes beyond comfort in to irrational realm of self-sacrifice. I dislike such idea.

It doesnt matter what you believe, because it doesnt require effort. To be called a theist, you have to live a very bitter lifestyle.
