Where is Jesus?

RE: Where is Jesus?
Well, I still haven't "found" Jesus yet. Maybe I should look down the back of the sofa, everything seems to turn up there in the end.

apparently you can find him everywhere except in our universe. Never could get the hand of omnipresence and transcendance.

Beat me to it Smile I actually got to see some very old pages of "the book of the dead" at a big Ancient Egypt exhibit at a museum a few years ago. They were found in the same area that tutankhamun was discovered, and a whole bunch of artifacts made it's way here over to NZ in the latte 90's.

The thing Godschild seems incapable of understanding is that the book of the dead is not used to prove the existence of any of the more mythical beings in it's pages.

I've never mentioned the 'book of the dead' so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Because we have different versions of these texts in whole or in part which show that they evolved ( I know you guys hate that word...tough!) over time and to suit the political needs of the church.

Different versions by who. That response does not answer my question if we do not have the originals then how do you know what we have now isn't the same as the originals. You can't.

MIN Wrote:What difference does it make? Your fucking gospels were not written by the people they were attributed to in the first place. The fact that legions of nameless scribes were busily copying down differing versions of this bullshit is sufficient to show that what we have today is NOT ORIGINAL.

You all act as if the Bible was copied by people who did not care what they were perserving. The Book of Isaiah is 2100 to 2300 years old and it says the same things today as it did then and in this book there is a prophesy about Christ and it does match with the NT. So with this being true why would you think that the rest of scripture is not as accurately copied. There is physical proof of the accuracy of the copies of the Bible.

There is a version of the king james bible were they left out the word 'not' in the thou shalt not commit adultary comandment.

The Dead Sea Scrolls, and as Min said there is a 5% error rate which clearly changed nothing about the Book of Isaiah the errors are very minor.

@Min why do you spout off about the bias of christian writtings and even Jewish writtings and then turn around and give an explaination of Isaiah 53 only from Jewish text and say see this is the true meaning of Isaiah 53 when that text is certainly full of Jewish bias simple because they do not want to accept the prophecies about Christ.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The scriptures are for anyone who wants to take them seriously, they belong to no certain people, God gave them to the world. If you read them you might understand things like this.

So YHWH gave his book to the world so everyone could read what a bigoted, baby-killing, crazy, jealous douchebag he is? And he is so insecure, he will make you suffer everlasting torment if you don't agree with his ways and his book?

I would much rather go to this imaginary place called "hell" than subjugate to this fuckwit god.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

No YHWH creatively inspired mankind to better understand him. Mankind(albeit primitive) then wrote down their best understanding of God.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Either it was a pretty crap understanding, or God is a psychopath.

The Jews wrote this bullshit for themselves. There was no god. No jesus. Just Jews looking to establish their own little niche in an area of the world which didn't give a fuck about them. They didn't know or care about your silly godboy. Wake the fuck up already. You are getting tiresome .
