OFC I did, binged it from start to finish as soon as it came out, lol. Yeah, that's definitely not going to happen, as I said, I'm pretty sure Palahniuk isn't the first person ever to come up with this kind of plot. That's simply not damn likely. There are millions upon millions of similar stories told, I bet.

You're not going to be original no matter how hard you try. You're always going to create something that's already there. All you can hope for is to make it better yourself. This is why I don't agree with you on this. You're only saying it because you know about Fight Club, but what about all those countless other Fight Clubs you don't know about?

There are, but there comes a point where too many of those lines have been crossed. Hell, I;ve ruined the "big reveal" of the first season just by -mentioning- fight club..haven't I?
(and it isn't just the arc or the characters or their relationships..either....the manner of narrative - constantly piercing the wall , the airy questions....)

Hey man, keep on hating, I don't care. Yeah, you kind of did spoil it for everyone, so there you go, I hope you're happy.
Just FYI, I'm an insane Fight Club fan, I've been one ever since I first saw it as a kid and didn't even know it had achieved cult status. And I'm totally OK with this series. Why? Because it's different enough from Fight Club to make it work. Because Fight Club is ancient and a lot of the newer generations might've not seen the movie. Because this is a TV Show and not a film. Because Fight Club was originally a book, a very good book, even if it was transformed in a movie. So I see it as a Tv Series influenced by that book, that's all. And that's just fine. If it had been a movie and not a TV Series, I would've hated it for this reason same as you, even while liking it for different ones if it was still this awesome. But it's not and I don't.

Not exactly a subtle connection...or a minority opinion......filmschoolrejects in particular (warning...do not fucking read it if you don;t want it completely spoiled). Pretty much sums up my opinion. Good show, shameless rip.

Jesus christ, lol, I should have known better than to impugn the dignity of the greatest show on tv to it's biggest fan.
Personally, I'm waiting to see whether or not they can do something with it season 2, if it's saturday night at the drive-in all over again, I won't watch season 3...if there is a season 3. If they can, all is forgiven, lol.

Your first reaction seemed like it dismissed the show entirely because of it. If you had said you liked the show, but you had a problem with it because of that up front, that would've been fine. But you seemed to argue that this alone ruines it completely and makes it invalid. Well, it doesn't, and all the people that watch it and enjoy it seem to think so as well.
