Other Forums you frequent?

I joined a forum for lonely people about 6 years ago. I met some great virtual friends with whom I still keep in contact. Another member there PMed me an explicit and threatening message a few weeks ago so I decided to step away from that forum.
I've looked around at other forums and AF is one of the better ones out there.

Yes, I told a mod and he was banned but they weren't clear on whether the ban would be lifted in the future. I found out later that he also posted a similarly explicit and threatening response to me on a forum thread. I didn't see it before it was deleted by a mod but apparently the message sat on the forum for about 12 hours before a mod removed it. The PM also explicitly threatened my young child. When I started thinking about keeping a baseball bat near my front door, I knew it was time to step away from the forum. On a side note, I think mods can make or break a forum - I like it here a lot because I think the mods are doing a good job.

I was a longtime regular poster at a guitar forum which will go unnamed, up until about December this last year. A combination of personal reasons and a change in forum character from wild-west opinionating to "politics and religion will get you banned, so will questioning moderators (even in private! Ask me how I know!)"
I regard this forum as my "home" forum. I also read and post at TTA, The Jazz Guitar Forum, Guitar Forums (though I'm getting tired of that place, there's some cockknockers who spew their faith but get butthurt when answered in kind), and SoberRecovery.com. Pickguard on or off?, Do You Like This Finish? and so on are grist for that particular mill. Yeah, I know where you're coming from. |
