I'm not afraid of terrorism, are you?

There is a big difference between that car accident or that one hamburger too many that might kill you and a crazy person who blows you up. Pretending to be ignorant of that difference is simply dishonest.

We have a lot of problems, yes, and we should be afraid of all of them. Some more than others. You don't bury your head in the sand and hope it pases and you certainly don't proclaim your fucking heroism when you don't have any close persons who died or were affected themselves by such terrorist attacks. Keyboard Hero Syndrome. I don't care about terrorism. Wooo-hooo.

I was just over a km away from the Arndale centre when the bomb went off. As far as I'm concerned, it made me think that fuck this, I am going to live my life to the maximum and not let a band of nutjobs get one over me, keyboard warrior or not. Unless you have experienced it, there will always be people who will claim that others are Keyboard warriors.

Thing about threats is, their underlying causes matter. I'm fairly sure we're talking about different kinds of fear here. You're taking the word too literally, I'm using it on a more intellectual level. I hope this clears things up for both of us.

You have to fear them in the sense that you have to try to prevent this from going too far. Too many people don't care about the issue enough and many of them are in positions to do something about it, however small it might be, even if it means not standing in the way of others' efforts to solve the problem.

OP, for the world in general, I care and have concern for it/them. How could you not? But that would have little impact on candidate selection.

For me personally, nope. And I am often told I live with one. Change fear to irritation.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

As a 26-year-old suburban American, I am thousands of times more likely to die in a car crash than terrorism. The way I drive probably multiplies that by a factor of 2.

No, I am not scared of terrorism.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

It doesn't even take very advanced technology as witnessed by the massacre in Nice. The way I see it, when Germany and Imperial Japan were totally humiliated by Allies their respective ideologies where also effectively discredited. Sure there are a few neo-Nazi, white supremacy losers smoking in their mom's basements, but despite their delusions of grandeur they are common criminals. They inspire no one. The same with Islamic terror. Until the jihadi rhetoric and the ideology of Islamic supremacy is thoroughly discredited we'll be playing wack-a-mole with pychos that the larger movement exploits.

IF we're talking about personal safety, I probably have the least to fear from Terrorists given my current location and the utter unlikelihood that they might attack it. I just don't think only about myself or indeed on that small a scale whenever I'm worried about terrorism. And the OP certainly didn't show signs of asking us (only) about this side of the issue. The OP seems to think Terrorism isn't a problem, or, at least, that saying so is somehow his small way of fighting it. I bet this warped notion has been implanted in his head by a misinformed, regressive and utterly idiotic media, so I'm not about to blame him for it, but I would gladly hear his further reasoning on the matter.

I've heard it from intelligent sources before that the religious of the West have this issue right more often than anyone else. I've never seen it first-hand though, so it's definitely something to see.

I guess you guys just know they mean business and don't fuck around - you're the only ones equipped with the kind of knowledge to be able to understand this fact innately.

You don't think that the jihadis have been thoroughly humiliated?  Have you seen the middle east of late?  We turned that place into a meat grinder and rolled out, because who gives a shit?

We don't even go to the effort to kill them ourselves anymore, not worth our time..we use hopped up roombas......pretty damned degrading/discrediting to get offed, dozens-a-batch, by a semi-autonomous household appliance.

Except it's not about humiliating them militarily, but ideologically. You have to fight their ideas first, discredit their warped worldview - that's how you win this fight first and foremost.
