I think we are slaves to our motives, far from free.... but I find it meaningful that our passions are part of us... a fucking skydaddy dictator certainly isn't.

Well in a sense yes you can't ultimately choose it. But on the other hand we do have choices they just ultimately stem from unchosen desires.
My point was that I find it more meaningful to accept my own values and who I am than have them dictated by a supernatural being.
Life is about not letting yourself get too carried away, but enjoying getting carried away with others

Actually, the X-Files' Cigarette Smoking Man said it best: Quote:Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers. Sweet dreams, kids.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
