I've always found this issue interesting.

The best response I've had to brewer's question was that things aren't predestined but that God simply sees the paths that we can take -and of course knows beforehand what we will do- and lets us run.

Frankly that still sounds like, for all intents and purposes, predestination to me. An original answer was nice for a change though.

So when you hear that 100,000 Christians are dying for their faith, you need to keep in mind that the vast majority - 90,000 - are people who were killed in DR Congo.

How does that change the fact that people are being killed because of a bullshit? Or the location where they were killed belittles the fact that human beings are being killed?
