How to be happy

How to be happy
How to be happy:

Step 1: don't fuck shit up and make yourself unhappy

Step 2: ?????

Step 3: Profit.

But seriously, how much would you say happiness is about avoiding bad shit and how much would you say it's about going after good stuff?

Stupidly simplistic initial question here, and way too vague and abstract, but it's to get the conversation going on the matter.

RE: How to be happy
One generally affects the other... The more you strive for the good things, the less chance of attracting the bad things.

I love stuff too much to not strive for them ...unfortunately, working is MY way of achieving that.

Life is too short to be able to do everything, so I think it's important to work out what you really want, and to review it regularly.

Like you say, a healthy mixture of avoiding bad consequences and seeking positive experiences. And a lot of tedious groundwork.

Going after what you want is the best way to get it. In that sense, happiness is a decision.

RE: How to be happy
Striving for happiness is a journey.
Once you're there, you feel empty soon after and set a new goal for happiness.
I think the feeling at succeeding at a goal makes us feel happy because we've achieved what we've set out to accomplish. Fulfillment.
Happiness is a moving target we're constantly chasing...

The best joy comes from a process, not a result Smile

Very true. I find the longer the process, the better the result.

Women can even have multiple outcomes.
