Just sayin'. Smile
Oh, you mean that Akhenaten stuff? Pretty sure Zarathustia is earlier than 1300BC. Quoting Mary Bryce's book "Zoroastrians: They beliefs And Practices" (which I own and is also referred on Zarathustra's English Wikipedia article:
"Scholars generally place Zarathushtra as having lived in north-east Iran or northern Afghanistan some time between 1700 and 1300 BCE"

The point is more the similarities between Zarathustra and Muhammad. I'll list a few I can remember quickly:

1. Seven days of creation
2. Man is the last living thing to be created
3. Evil spirit refuses to praise man (like how Iblis did not bow to Adam)
4. Woman is created after man.
5. Zarathustra was in his thirties when he was first visited by an angel of god.
6. The angel gave Zarathustra his revelation gradually, like Gabriel to Muhammad
7. Chinvat Bridge basically the same as As-Sirāt
8. Heaven and hell are concepts Zarathustra taught.
9. Strict monotheism too.
10. Zarathustra moved from his birthplace, where people had grown to hate him, to a new area, where he managed to convert a local tribe, kind of like the Hijra.
11. Zarathustrians pray five times each day - this the same as Salat.
12. They wash themselves before each pray - like Wudu.

I'm sure there are more similarities.

Also put my post in spoiler tags; it's way too long to be quoted like that.

I don't think so. Anyway who gives a rat's bum? I don't care what most of the ancients thought. We are far more advanced now. Even Socrates would marvel at what we have done.

That people pray is frankly, embarrassing.

Atlas, why do you think Allah is making you so miserable?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I give a rat's bum. Though I'm not trying to convince you. I'm trying to get our Theist acquaintances to re-examine their religion.

That is a good question. I hadn't thought of it. Come on Allah, spill the beans. Why have you made Atlas's life so objectively terrible. Atlas is a good guy; they don't deserve this. Curse al-Saud instead. Tell us the cure for MS. Just do something, please.

Please don't send me birthday gifts. A rat's bum is all I need. Wink

Perhaps Atlas is making his own life miserable by groveling to that stupid fantasy god of his?

Atlas, I hope you can find peace without a god, I hope you can let go of your fear of hell and stop hoping for heaven and just live your life as the good person you are.

It's not just hell Atlas has to fear. You may or may not know Atlas lives in Saudi (this has been mentioned in the past). Atlas has said before about the "Saudi gulags". It's survival, no Atlas merely exists in Saudi. His quality of life is not good, especially with the MS. But what can one do besides offering the deepest sympathies?
