Quote:They KNOW that Jesus will return!
Doesn't it seem as if a truly omnipotent 'god' could do the job right the first time as Jewish scriptures require? Why does he need to be a commuter?

Min, I've stated that a few times when talking to so many xtians in the past....
The so called, "Perfection" debate... Fruit Tree, Satan, Flood, Original Sin, Blood sacrifice, blah, blah, Yada, yada.... Different replies back for each, and how I'm looking at a Natural explanation and not a supernatural one...That's usually where their faith card is thrown out and my eyes roll, and question whether or not they have children..... Thor, that's insane...and I understand how hard it must have been to not want to stand up in the middle of it all and start calling, "Bullshit" on each comment the idiot made...lol

Makes me think of the "whipping boys" they had in the 16th and 17th centuries. Back then, a young prince would have a "whipping boy" who took the punishment whenever the young prince misbehaved. Seems to me that Jesus is the "whipping boy" for Christians. You do the deed, but Jesus takes the punishment for you! What a deal! But one time I really had to control myself was when we were at a wedding a few years ago. This was in a Catholic church and the ceremony included a full mass (Oh, happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!). What REALLY got to me was when the priest told everyone that this mass "didn't count" for their weekly worship obligation. The priest said, "I expect to see all of you here tomorrow!" I had to resist the urge to shout out, "You won't see me, asshole!" Later, I was wondering why the mass conducted during the wedding ceremony didn't count towards the weekly worship obligation (and if it doesn't count, then WHY have the stupid mass?). Then it hit me.... you can't pass the plate at a wedding ceremony. It is all about money, isn't it?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?
I meant to write in a quote on my last post....One of my favorite is this one:
When asked, "what is the scariest thing you have ever seen in your life", it was when I was in my car looking out the window and upon seeing a boy with a Priest who was kneeling down with his hand on the boys shoulder talking with him. I rolled down my window and screamed, "Run little boy, Run for your life!!!!... Alfred Hitchcock.....

Sam, mon ami, let's start a little discussion on why their so-called 'god' keeps getting "surprised." For an all-knowing 'god' he sure seems to be upset when his little schemes keep backfiring on him. 1 Samuel 15:11 Quote:10 Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, 11 “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” How come 'god' didn't know that before appointing 'Saul?" Min, that's a really good question, and a good description verse put up....
I usually get the bullshit parable excuse, or god's plan bs etc. etc. Anyone that denies that verse at it's bluntness, can never tell me they are "Rational Thinkers"... P.S. How come 'god' didn't know that before appointing 'Saul?" Drum Roll........................ Because "He's" not real.....LOLOLOL... Which I know you know....

Let's give them God Fuckup #2, shall we 2 Samuel 12 Quote:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; God gets fooled again.
If you want more, then read 1 Kings and find out just how "Godly" Solomon and his sons were....Of course all in the name and answered to by God.....
"God Fool" would be another good quote....

I haven't gotten to "Solomon" yet. Curious to see if any of his staunch defenders try to show that god was not a bad judge of character after all.

You could start it at Solomon, but then skip over to his fucked up kid Rehoboam......
Long story short, he strays from what god's want, get's reprimanded, and of course repents his falsehoods and then god rewards him for coming back....blah blah blah...... Of course since god is all knowing, he must of known from the start of this monarchy, greedy, bloody, wealthy clump of bullshit, that when he started with "David" (King Salomon's Father), that Rehoboam and his fucked up daddy would be all the atrocities of what "God" deemed acceptable ion the end.... There ya go, part of sky daddy's plan.....Regardless that they all murdered, destroyed, and became wealthy from their "Wisdom" in the name of "God".... Also, don't forget the fact that Rehoboam, felt his father (Solomon) was being to soft on the workers....He added to their torture...And this is just "ONE" of his adds...(Of course those can consider this a parable, but a parable nonetheless of worse conditions)... 11'Whereas my father loaded you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.'" 3 days of tribulation and he gave the same answer....But of course when the "King" realized he was going against "God" with his choices, he begged for forgiveness and was granted his power back....Blah, Blah, Blah...... *Cough* *Cough* Bullshit..... P.S. He didn't ask for forgiveness because of the being harsher on the workers.....It was due to not listening to what a "Prophet of God" was telling him he should do etc. It was only then when he realized he was loosing his battle that hey repented.........
