If the cost is that expensive, my insurance company might decide that they are no longer going to pay for it. So if that happens, my life just became worthless to my insurance company simply because the drug company is too greedy to lower the cost to something reasonable.
It is a sad day when one's own life is threatened by the greed of a pharmaceutical company's desire to keep their bottom line full.
I wish I didn't have to depend on an Epi Pen, but my allergies don't give me any other option.
Adrenaclick: http://adrenaclick.com/
Same thing (epinephrine). Sold at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club for about $140.
It works a bit differently from Epi Pen, though.
If that isn't in my insurance company's formulary, I might as well forget about it. I can't afford that.

Look into it; it's likely covered. After all, it's significantly cheaper. Your doc would have to write an entirely new script, though. Technically, it's not the generic equivalent of Epi Pen, because the delivery system is patented.

Patented, WTF? The delivery system appears to be a derivative of the atropine auto-injectors the military issued us in 1987 for treating exposure to nerve agent.

I don't know what's going on with the patent.
Looked on the PDL's to look into coverage of the alternatives. It appeared that Tier 1 coverage usually included Epi Pen and a recalled injector (Auvi-Q). I did see Adrenaclick covered a few times, but only under Tier 3 (non-preferred). That means at least 75 bucks a pop, if not more.
Doesn't really seem like there'd be a good reason for that unless something underhanded was taking place.
Hopefully, it'll be addressed with all the attention being brought to it.

Underhanded? The finance side of medical and insurance industries?
Say it ain't so, Thena.

My thing is if it's the same patent then it should have expired, if it's not, prior art shield make it unpatentable, then again , the USPTO is chronically understaffed.

It's the stinkin' cap...more or less.

Yeah, idiotic. Like a cap isn't obvious to everyone, much less someone versed in engineering, which according to law should invalidate the patent.
Which of course they won't because the overwhelming number of patent cases are cherry picked into a particular Texas court that is very friendly to the patent holders.
Fucking system is rotten all around. Excuse the French.

I know a patent lawyer. You should go kick his ass.
Oh, wait a second...He's a lawyer.
Never mind.
Scratch that.

Nah, I really abhor violence and I'd probably get my ass kicked in any case. This tentacled horror is a lover not a fighter.
