Sort of a complicated question, I'll try to ask. How was I born me and not another?

RE: Sort of a complicated question, I'll try to ask. How was I born me and not another?
The universe isn't under any compulsion to satisfy you.  You asked questions and received accurate answers.  Your level of satisfaction is irrelevant.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If I put in another dollar, will I get a better fortune cookie?

It seems to me like an accomodated version of the anthropic principle might answer your questions.

You'll get -another- fortune cookie, that's for sure...lol.

On the subject of fortune cookies...there comes a point when you get the same fortune cookie again.  Just like this isn't the first time this discussion has been had, on these boards.  When that happens, you start to realize that the things we stuff into fortune cookies are deepities rather than revelations...and so to, is this line of questioning.

Once upon a time at a Chinese restaurant, I opened a fortune cookie and there was no fortune inside. My dad leaned over and said, "How unfortunate!"

I frowned...then burst into laughter. True story =)

I've since learned to write my own fortune. Cheers!

"We" is a crowd. How many versions of you are just waiting as a wave form to collapse into outward expression entirely dependent on external stimuli? And how much control do you actually have over that reaction?

There are selves with authenticity and integrity and there are selves which will become what ever you want them to, for the right price. Individuals caught up in crowds tend to do things they normally wouldn't by themselves.

Are there no past tendencies you have manifested which you have later had to "burn" out of you?

But it fits so well, with the added benefit of covering my receding hair line.
