ROFLOL

Way to go Americans! What are you going to do if this happens?

Bet you'll wish you had pushed for a secular amendment to the Constitution.

Too late for that! HAHAHAHAHAH!

Crazy people doing crazy things is not eye catching anymore. Media celebrity hacks doing things openly disrespectful of a shred of proud history, still not uncommon.

It is funny they call themselves tea party. They are absolutely not 3 percenters, what do they know about political disobedience and open rebellion?

Belief should be behind closed doors, like many other things.

Thanks,
Pip

Well, there already is one-- the first amendment-- however, it seems at least 1/3 of the country doesn't give a damn about it.

Once upon a time, in the early 1990s I remember-- you had to turn on AM radio at 2 in the morning to hear idiots like Glenn Beck. FOX "News" has done more to sink journalistic standards in the US in the past decade -- which has negatively impacted the standards of other news networks in the US (also, Beck was with CNN a few years ago, which I found baffling).

After 9/11, I remember ALL the media were pushing-- PUSHING for the invasion of Afghanistan, and not long after that, Iraq. There were no dissenting views, there were no reports scrutinizing anything (except for Phil Donohue, who was then quickly fired-- I guess Olberman and Maddow are supposed to make up for that, though I find them disappointing as journalists per se).

It had gotten to the point where I had to look overseas for news (usually the BBC and the Guardian) because at least they tended not to treat politicians and pundits with kid gloves like they do here in the US. Journalists here in the US do NOT follow up questions to politicians and now we've got this bizarre practice of giving "other views" even if that "other view" is batshit insane.

In the meantime, you have idiots who still cry out about the "liberal media"! What liberal media? There is no such thing in this country-- certainly not in the corporate media in the US. Traveling overseas, I realize all the more how insular the US is culturally and politically, and how journalism operates in other countries. Really, US Americans should get out more often.

To think these idiots think Obama is a socialist/fascist/communist/muslim/atheist (how can he possibly be all these things. Again, they are idiots). They think he is "liberal"? I find him and most of the Democratic party far too conservative, but that's just me. But I find it amusing they make such idiotic statements when in some other countries there are "conservatives" who are to the left of Obama.

The teabaggers are just tools. That problem (and the underlying racism, fearmongering, xenophobia, religious idiocy) is not merely political, but cultural. But they are being used and it is affecting the US politically. Ironically, Glenn Beck "wrote" a "book" called The Overton Window, but if anyone is pushing the Overton window, it is the right in this country. It has gone so far over to the right that the "left" in the US is hardly "left" at all. Its a joke.

Quote:Conservative commentator Glenn Beck and tea party champion Sarah Palin appealed Saturday to a vast, predominantly white crowd on the National Mall to help restore traditional American values and honor Martin Luther King's message.
Yes, right-wingers honoring the message of a man who was considered a Communist by the FBI, by holding a rally on the same day and location as his March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

We just had a Federal election.

Here, the religious right is represented by a minor party called 'Family First'. Nationally, it polled under 3% of the vote, not winning a single seat.

A new earth creationist, Fielding lost his seat.

Quote:The Family First Party is a socially conservative minor political party in Australia. It has one member in the Australian Senate (Steve Fielding), two members in the South Australian Legislative Council (Robert Brokenshire and Dennis Hood) and one member in the New South Wales Legislative Council (Gordon Moyes). The party's federal chairman is Bob Day.

This clip with Fielding and Richard Dawkins on a panel show is quite entertaining. Living proof we don't need a Sarah Palin. We have more than enough idiots of our own.

RE: Theocracy is coming and Glenn Beck is bringing it!
It's not even socialist in the full sense; the final stage of the bill is weak. That's why the Socialist Party hates it ^^

Yes, my country has terrible news thanks to conservative insanity (I personally use BBC). Dem's and Rep's are both part of the same two-headed dragon (most of them anyway). A it would seem, the Libertarian Party has more sense, but they lack tact big time. The Tea Party is inefficient and full of sheeple. Idiots who shout "Freedom!" like Beck are typically the very fascists that the founding fathers swore to defeat..... *Sigh*And people actually believe that the founding fathers wanted this country to be christian. I'm really detesting the contriving "leaders" here.

Skwisgaar Skwigelf: Guess what? You are a GMILF. That is a grandmother I'd like to fuck

I think Beck is full of shit. I don't think he believes a word of the garbage he spews. He's in it for the fame and the money... and now that people actually follow his lead... he's becoming mad with power. He is taking advantage of the stupid and the ignorant for personal gain... but they are too stupid and ignorant to realize it.
