Depends on the flavor of catholics. The last service I attended - already an atheist for the better part of 20 years - was my mother's funeral. Also broken into two parts. The actual burial and a mass the following morning, if I'm not mistaken. There was no rosary, just a very personal sermon by the priest (never had any problem with him, by the way), a personal friend of my parents, and an ordinary service following the usual lithurgy.
