“I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.” - George Carlin

As usual, most people against voting neglect the fact that there are other, much more important elections aside from the presidential one

The main reason to vote for Hillary is so the incompetent small-handed unstable egotistical inexperienced excessively self-absorbed fuck called Trump does not win. That's all you need for a positive case for Hillary.

I'm impatiently awaiting the opportunity myself, lol.  Wink

@Irrational

That may be all -you- need, but I'd prefer a bumbling, embarrassing idiot that will get nothing done to a person smart enough to work the system and get -shitty- things done. Trump ruled himself out not on the basis of his abject ignorance, but on my deep well of pure and undiluted fucking patriotism. Every time I hear him talk about -his- american dream...my inner murican is screaming "Not in my house, you billowy bitch!"

Who neglected? I can go in and vote down ballot and leave the top unanswered.

As a farmer, I pay much more to the county I live in for property taxes than I do in federal income tax (by more than 2X) so I have quite an interest in the local races.

-however-

I'm almost 60, my health insurance premiums are in the 5 figures, my coverage was just canceled, I'm looking for new coverage, I have to find a physician that's covered by the plan and isn't put off by some 'lifestyle' concerns and has some experience with 12 Steppers and [sigh] geriatric medicine. And I think it's clear I ain't been too fucking happy about changes to the health care system . . . . .

I think most people who say they won't vote are flat-out not voting at all. Because they don't understand the importance of smaller elections. That much is obvious when you look at voter turnout by election type.

Bolded mine. That's like the best case scenario. In my opinion, that's not going to be the case. It's going to be worse if he ends up President.
