America Great again!

RE: America Great again!
Bernie wasn't an outsider either. The stupid people wanted a a politically ignorant fuck, so that is what they got. I'm just...very upset. Sorry. I've had no sleep, and not likely to get any soon.

American basically elected Pence for president.

The Donald wants to be called Mr. President, but I don't think he really wants to BE Mr. President and all the work that goes along with it.

If you remember the New York Times story from back in July on how The Donald picked his running mate.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/20/magazi...-mate.html

Quote:But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?
“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

Back in August John Kasich confirmed to CNN that Donald Trump Jr. tried to entice him with being the most powerful VP ever by putting him in charge of foreign and domestic policy.

On a brighter note, I rarely watch tv. TWD is the only show I watch regularly.
With a Trump victory however Saturday Night Live should have plenty of material for the next 4 years and might actually be funny again.

I wish I could have seen Bernie vs Trump, but after what I just saw, I'm not sure it would have made a difference. Bernie wasn't selling fear or hate. Clearly that is what the people want. And denial.

8 years of a black man that people blamed for literally everything, this was some kind of inevitable backlash. The angry white Christians have declared war, regardless of the cost. I only hope the cost isn't too high.

You don't think it could have a little to do with the Democrats rigging the primary to ensure their nominee was one of the most disliked establishment politicians of all time?

Yes, fear and hate played a part in this election, but that's pandering to the Republican base. I'll remind any Democrat that thinks they lost simply because of racist stupidity that you don't get elected president without the independent swing-voters.

If your depiction is correct then what does that say for Clinton? That she is so inept she could not defeat a racist, mysoginist, willfully ignorant fear monger.

It says to me that enough U.S. Citizens are uneducated (that was his base demographic after all, before anyone gets all offended by my word choice), ignorant, followers in desperate need of someone to say things that make them feel safe; followers who fall back on hate, scapegoating, and bigotry in order to assuage their own irrational fears, and fill in the spaces where tangible knowledge and critical thinking should be.

It says to me that America wanted a playground bully for president regardless of his character, and embarrassing lack of understanding regarding economic and sociopolitical issues.

It tells me that a lot of Americans are blissfully happy to throw their vote to a pathological liar with the worst case of Dunning Kruger complex I have ever seen, so long as he shouts out all the right buzz words.

It says to me that my country is full of LAZY thinkers.

I guess the only real issue here is why I should find any of the above at all surprising...

I agree the comedy will get better. Can I ask you again what year America was great? What year we are going back to?

Really? The Trump parodies stopped being funny a year ago, mostly because you can't parody something that's already a joke. Four more years (at least...) of Trump impersonations and jokes about his f*cking roadkill hair, his orange skin and his bimbo wife? That's almost worse than whatever this humanoid-shaped piece of sh*t is going to actually do as the president.

And Saturday Night Live sucks and will continue to suck. Get used to it.

That was always a serious concern about a Clinton candidacy.  The democratic establishment ignored that at the institutional level, and dem voters didn't want to believe it on a personal level.
