To an extent, we tend to give new presidents some slack. What gets you to the White House isn't necessarily a good roadmap to how you will govern. Trump is the president now, and I hope he will surprise us in some good ways.

You know, I've been thinking about republitard strategising the last while. And it is very remiscient of how the Geman right tried to handle the NSDAP up to 30/01/1933. They thought they could harness the rage and the SA to their own ends, and use Hilter as a pawn in their game to kill democracy. Unfortunately for them it wasn't the German right but the whole of Germany who ended up on the Tiger's back.
Let's hope Trump is more of a Quisling than a Hitler.

Talking of which, I bet Trump doesn't know how the US owes so much debt to China that it can call the shots. I'm not sure Trump will enjoy having to placate their demands.
