And I still can't understand nor do I want to muster any understanding for anyone having voted for Trump and not being a bigot. I can't and don't want understand anyone overlooking all what he said. That's a red line I'm not willing to cross. It's on the same lines as pissing on the graves of my ancestors.

I hear you ... but not all Trumpeteers are bigots.
It's a shame they saw fit to validate his bigoted message, but I think the hatred of Hillary was the guiding hatred for many of them.

Their task now is to sort Trump's incoherent proposals into cogent policy. The tough sledding is just starting.
Then how do you explain the democrats in the unions who switched over to Trump away from Hillary? Or the Latinos, Blacks, gays, women that voted Trump, and not Hillary? Hillary was damaged goods, and Trump represented unity for those who can see how the democrats and liberals divided everyone. We are all human and want the same things, peace, safety, security, jobs etc. Plus the Republican establishment was mainly against him with some voting Hillary.
Trump used to be a democrat, and believe it or not has true liberal beliefs of self determination. It's more common sense approach, but many are living in a false reality that the establishment media has been promoting because they fear losing their power to someone they don't control. The key is how to get the message across. I thought this was a good article.

Yeah, I know. And if anything I feel a bigger amount of contempt for the ones not being bigots. The bigot, well it's expected to fall for the message. Such as the KKK endorsing Trump. But all the "good", hardworking people hearing the message and still voting for that creature, they're accomplices, aiding and abetting. Nothing reaches them in their apathy. And that may be even worse than being a bigot.

I'm not saying working class Democrats didn't sway right -- but the Dems' real problem wasn't their values, which most Dems still hold dear, but a combination of complacency and an uninspiring candidate that interacted to drive down party turnout.

Agreed. "All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing."

Doing nothing may be preferable to doing that thing. Doing nothing doesn't actually make you an accomplice. But actively voting for that kind of message is aiding and abetting.

Again, I only take Hitler since he's closest to home. Trump is not Hitler. But my contempt mainly results in people voting for any of these creastures when they still had all the choices. That goes for the German elections of '32, '33 as well as the American elections of 2016.
They, even if the didn't subsrcibe to the message, are accomplices making that happen. That, for me at least, is worse than being convinced by the message.

I didn't vote.
Both candidates are a disaster in my book, it was a choice between the lesser of two evils, and I have to say trump was the lesser evil. That's not saying a whole lot when the choice is between Beelzebub and Satan.
Hillary is a pandering sociopath.
I was at Tuzla airbase when she claimed she came under sniper fire and had to dodge bullets, so I know she was lying first hand, tell me what kind of psycho blatantly tells the kind of lie that can be contradicted by literally thousands of people?
Here's Hillary pandering for the black vote, I mean this woman will lie about anything.
Hillary never had a shot at beating Trump, the initial polls during the democratic primary had HILLARY LOSING TO TRUMP
Polls Showed Sanders Had a Better Shot of Beating Trump–but Pundits Told You to Ignore Them
IMO all of you that chose Hillary in the primary are to blame for Trump's win.
