Pick a gender, any gender! Hehe

I identify as a field effect transistor, and I feel suppressed by this sheet.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

There must be a support group near you.

I'm a step-down transformer myself. Unsurprisingly, my group has 12 steps.

I mean, by all means feel and do what you want -barring hurting others- but let's not devolve into feels over reals shall we?

While I do agree with the sentiment of wikipedia being unreliable, how people feel does not negate facts. And in that specific instant, Wikipedia would be correct: a person with XXX chromosomes would be a biological female (and 99.7% of the time she would identify as such) and a person with XXY or XYY chromosomes would be a biological male and also almost certainly identify as one. And afaik sex chromosome trisomy isn't very serious symptom wise.

While I appreciate the idea of breaking gender stereotypes and questioning gender roles, a gender identity does not a gender make. To say that there are more than two genders is simply put unscientific. No one can be neither gender. Our physiology and behaviors are influenced by it severely, on multiple levels as a result of evolution. They can 'not identify' with either gender - and that is all fine by me.

I agree that a gender identity doesn't make a gender. But often times when people who gender-identify a certain way say 'gender' it's just shorthand for 'gender identity'.

Gender identity -is- a feels, for reals.  What's the problem?

Agreed, people might find this interesting (ignore the fact its from the daily fail, I have read his book and the article is factual if not a little sensationalist).

You guys are going to get a visit from the gender terrorist.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

See Vic's post, he worded it quite nicely.

For an example on the lunacy of feels over reals look at FNM's video. I mean, don't get me wrong, be respectful to folks if they deserve it by all means, but this nonsense on "No one is born a girl, we are assigned genders at birth..." and going on to talk about how doctors doing their job and saying "it's a boy/girl" (something that turns out to be right for like, what, 99.7% of the population was it?) is an act of violence. Christ on a fucking cracker. Get real.
