No, you're pretty much caught up. Apparently we're to hear more about karma, reincarnation and after life eventually. Oh boy, hey?

Do we get to go out of body and be truly free?

i do not believe too much in karma..karma is more a term used in Hinduism...
its a very vast subject..it needs a lot of thinking..and not eveyone got the same ideas..
re incarnation??i believe when i die..i'm gone..no idea where my soul or spirit will go?
anyone else thinks the same way?

What is your "soul or spirit"?

The idea that "I" could be reincarnated as someone else, with no memory of me, no characteristics of me, no nothing, is absurd. In what way am I "me", except by some bizarre labeling system employed by whatever fiend is doing this to me?

Yeah, "soul" and "spirit" are metaphorical descriptions only. There's no evidence that they actually exist in any real way.

i still have to discuss karma, reincarnation, life after death etc..it's a sub division of sprituality
it's gonna be a long thread,my friends==get your fingers ready..practise your keyboards and typing scores(ahah)
to be honest...I LOVE this forum..it's full of VERY intelligent folks who know what they are saying and talking about
and I LOVE a discussion..nobody can hit or hurt me in my true values...don't hurt yourselves,please..
being spiritual..is being yourself in the first place...be it religious, non religious or just believing in your OWN values in life...
a value...is a key word...it has to be..positive,spreading,growing...
for me without personal values and beliefs...there is nothing...life becomes a void,an emptiness...
being spiritual is about thinking for the better...the purpose of life, the positive things we want for ourself and others.
and the negativity we NEVER want for anyone around us.. Smile

so...a word to the mods==DO NOT BAN ME.. Huh Rolleyes I can come out of a corner where i hit emotions
bold mine

You are confusing "grew up" with "grew old". Might be more correct to say that they matured. Everyone grows older, not all mature.

What is spirituality?

Spiritual comes from the same root as inspire and respiration.  It deals with the breath, a la meditation.

I think therefore I am Rousseau?  Or I breathe therefore I am?

You can be a spiritual atheist.  Even Sam Harris is spiritual.

The self is an illusion.  There's nowhere in the brain where a central identity is located, says Harris.  Buddha knew that in 630 BC.  Buddhism is far closer to reality than Christianity or Islam.

Free will is severely limited, if it exists at all. Buddhism is also about letting go of control.

We are all one, we are all interconnected, says science.  There's a tree of life, says evolution.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
