If This Doesn't De-Trumpify You, Nothing Will

If This Doesn't De-Trumpify You, Nothing Will
Trump has asked Robert Kennedy, Jr. to chair a vaccine safety study.  Kennedy has accepted.

What's so bad about that though?

Trump has done much worse things.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

What's so bad is that vaccines have saved countless millions of lives from the ravages of diseases like polio and smallpox, among other.  To give a government-sanctioned voice to the lunatic fringe who cling to the thoroughly discredited notion that vaccines are linked to autism is to undermine science.

Trump is potentially putting the lives of millions of US children at risk.  What has he done that is worse than that?

Well then the study will provide proof that there is no link.

Not with Robert Kennedy, Jr. in charge, it won't.  He's already convinced that there is a link and that there's a government conspiracy to cover it up.  Putting Kennedy in charge of this is a lot like putting a climate change denier in charge of cutting carbon emissions. He is a pretty prominent anti-vaxxer, and a thorough-going lunatic.

To this date, no study has found reproducible causation for vaccines inducing autism in any significant population.

Furthermore, there is considerable reproducible evidence for the efficacy of vaccines (Small pox as the gold standard) in saving lives.

I'm rather confused, CL, at your anti-scientific bent. Makes me wonder if you're being an apologist for anything Trump or his administration does.

Perhaps you're simply woefully ignorant or decadent in not evaluating the societal good vaccines have played in public health. I'm not as certain about that.

So you think he'll lie about the results of a study?

Sorry, I don't mean to be argumentative aND I'm not an anti vaxxer. I just don't see what the huge deal is about this.

Tell me about the pressing evidence to classify Marijuana as a schedule 1 drug. So far there is none that even approaches schedule 2.

Yet, as a political decision, it remains as-is.

Are you honestly expecting us to believe that because the science says, the politicians change their approach?!?

Anti scientific bent? May I ask what specifically you are referring to?

I'm not sure what you are talking about or why my comments on this thread are garnering such hostility from you.
