It's kinda funny when someone claims that Intelligent Design is a real scientific Theory. They claim that things are just too complex for Evolution, therefore an "intelligent agent" must be at work, but we can't identify him. Lol. And in some cases, they want ID to be taught at public schools. What will people learn from ID? There's nothing to teach.
Intelligent Design...another way of inserting Creationism where it does not belong. It adds nothing, scientifically, to evolution and isessentially a way of implimenting a theistic world-view into school teaching. It isn't some catch-all 'compromise', and it is fairly ignorant in its proposal that it be taught in schools. Church<==>State. Arms length, people.
On the subject of ID, I had an infuriating experience in class the other day. Our teacher decided to take a poll on whether we believed in evolution, or that God created the earth. I interjected that such a poll was biased, because some may believe in both. He then proceeded to assert that I must beleive in intelligent Design, and when I tried to correct him, he moved on and ignored me. Because of the biased nature of his poll, only three peopel raised their hands in defense of evolution. He pretty much mocked all of us for this, even when I am damn sure some of the people in that class were just too put off by the black and white-ness of hi spoll. :/ (September 18, 2010 at 4:17 pm)Watson Wrote: Intelligent Design...another way of inserting Creationism where it does not belong. Four words I didn't think I'd ever say. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. |
