So far as it's possible for me to sympathize with a gold-digging trophy wife, I sort of feel bad for Melania. She's married to one of the uber-douches of all time (her choice, true, but still), and she doesn't really seem that happy to be thrust into the First Lady role. For her own sake, I hope she spends as much time as possible in New York and away from DC.
I don't care one way or the other if she publicly embraces a cause. She can stay home and watch Korean Soaps for all it matters. But if she really needs a cause to champion, how about encouraging Americans to start dressing like sophisticated adults again? That would be nice.

What do Americans dress like these days?

Let me put it this way. When I take my wife out to dinner, I don't want to feel 'over dressed' just because my shirt has sleeves and my damn trousers fit.
I think my grandparents' generation were really the last ones who, as a group, took some care over how they looked in public. Grandpa wouldn't dream of going out to a decent restaurant without a jacket and tie. We're a much more casual society now, and it's too much to hope that the clock can be turned back to the hat/jacket/tie days. But it wouldn't kill us to make a bit of an effort.

Scripture is clear, Ivana Trump is the First Lady.
Melania is a concubine.
It's all very Old Testament, don't you know . . . .

Save your sympathies. She knew full well who he was getting involved with and decided the money was worth it. Think of them as two parasites that have found a symbiotic relationship.

I really don't care about Melania. She's just media bait.

About the only good she might do is take care of Trump's son so that the young one does not become like his father.

Melania was trash.
Then, the world witnessed her amazing transformation into trash with extra bedroooms, after marrying The Donald.
Now she's trash with a Secret Service detail.
Personally, I find her metamorphosis fascinating. Can't wait to see what's next.
