I get the feeling people are too bogged down in the same entrapment democratic voting is in, where anyone can put into a electorate position regardless of qualifications - do you actually believe this is the case in any scientific field?
That may not be the case in what scientists consider the scientific field. But in this great country of ours it is not the word of scientist that the ruling party and its supporters turn to in defining what is science and who is a scientist. You have to overcome the fact that voters who has no clue what is science gets to define what is science.
