Seeing as how dems don't mind owning a gun, and repubs don't mind taking guns away from Some People™, not very many, I'd wager. The minute that some black advocacy group shows up to commandeer a federal building armed with "assualt weapons", though... it'll be gun bans for one and all, true bipartisan cooperation, lol.

I would vote more moderately if gun rights were secure on both sides.

Up stream it was mentioned that ~40% of Dems were gun owners, so you're mooting there.

If the democrats would buy my ammo, I would vote for them. They could issue a card like an EBT card that had ammo money put on it each month.

People are using "the Democrats" and "the Republicans" like they're two monoliths. The US military is pretty balanced, both parties represented. Not every body in the US military handles guns, of course, but the philosophy is not so different between the two groups.

Yeah, I'm the one who mentioned it. Moderate gun ownership among Democrats doesn't translate into gun-ownership friendly (read: 2nd Amendment absolutist) political rhetoric. I mean, 'reasonable regulation'? Clearly they're gonna come take muh guns!

Both republicans -and- democrats agree on the issue of reasonable gun regulations. 80% of americans are either satisfied with current gun laws, or want stricter gun laws. A quarter of the reminder don't like the gun laws, but want to keep them as they are, and another quarter of the remainder had no opinion, responding to a gallup poll. That leaves a vanishingly marginal percentage of americans who want relaxed gun control.
You can always find a useful idiot to pull the "cold dead hands" routine on the teevees.....but those nutballs are in no way indicative of public opinion on the matter.
