We've never been much of a religious family, so I would say that he is an ally. If he wants to be religious then he can decide that when he is older. For the record, religion and atheism are not really discussed in our household.

That's the odd thing. My views have never really been compatible with the Conservative Party, except on maybe immigration policies but they are even going back on their promises and messing that up.
I admired Thatcher because she was a strong woman (without being a feminist, may I add) and her dedication to our friends on the Falkland Islands. That's really about it.
I've always been in favour of high taxation for the rich, a strong welfare system and against the privatisation of things like the NHS and our transport system. Not traditionally Tory opinions.
From now on, I won't label myself "left" or "right", since it just isn't that simple. Labels suck.
