Motivational books?

RE: Motivational books?
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

If the OP did not take exception to my suggestion and the suggestion was to the OP alone, and if you all had paid attention to the response of the OP then all this crap would not have come about. If you guys want to keep this junk up go ahead, leave me out of it, l have nothing further to say on this matter.

I thought you believed that the book contained the word of god. Now it's only a book?

That's not what I said, l was saying to put the blame only on the book did not make sense.

GC

What is not what you said, word of god or only a book?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Indeed, no need for Thena to get bent. She's so polite to the theists here I've not only seen her be nice to you but also to Drich because she's such a tolerant person. Just because she disagrees with you doesn't mean she's being unreasonable.

So yes, no need for her to get bent but you, however, can get bent as far as I'm concerned.

If you fob off those who are the most decent to you then I think you can get fucked (or bent, take your pick).

I don't think Godschild differentiates between those two things.

I've got a copy of that in my collection too, although I haven't finished reading it. (It's slated to be re-read from the beginning at some later date, and then either returned to the collection or given away depending on whether or not I expect to read it again.  I think I got about halfway through it before I got distracted.)

The depression book is more of a collaborative effort and a bit more to the clinical side rather than New Age, and I did read the whole thing before passing it along to someone else.

Was there anything in my last post to you that wasn't true? What did I say that would cause you to slam the door in my face? I'm not the only grown up here my friend.

Well....I thought it was funny, and that it might lighten things up a bit.

Apparently not.
Sorry about that.

I accept that as your intention, no need for the sorry.

Jesus christ, you just couldn't resist, could you?

to OP

I can't think of any books I've read that are anything like a motivational, pep talk type of thing... but there are some books that have helped me get out of slumps... books that are more about the mind itself and how to deal with different mental states.

The Art of Thinking: The Classic Guide to Increasing Brain Power by Allen F. Harrison and Robert M. Bramson

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene

Mastery by Robert Greene

The Happiness Trap: How to Stop Struggling and Start Living by Russ Harris and Steven Hayes

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life and Business by Charles Duhigg

Managing Your Mind: The Mental Fitness Guide by Gillian Butler and Tony Hope
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
