Political figure endorsement of news orgs = abuse of power?

So it's illegal for political figures to endorse businesses e.g. Kellyanne Conway's endorsement of the Ivanka Trump line of apparel. But what about news organizations? Newspapers, News Channels, News websites, etc., are businesses too. When Trump for instance publically endorses Fox News, Breitbart and Alex Jones, is that an abuse of power?

Good question. News outlets are technically businesses. Seems like this would qualify, but I'm certainly no expert.

Actually - according to several sources I've looked at - US federal employees are forbidden to endorse private businesses. The President of the US, however, is exempt from this rule.

So, when Trump sings the praises of, for example, Breitbart, he's guilty of bad taste and worse judgement, but not of an abuse of power.

And the corollary -- the outlets the Shitgibbon hates, well, I'm going to pay more attention to them. Because the truth hurts.

The stupid fuck is probably too old to learn that it's better to remain quiet and let others think of you as a fool, etc. But it's all good -- let him shout out the names of news orgs who aren't afraid of his horseshit.

Pottawattamie county democrats are meeting at Dixie Quicks, March 16.

I would assume patronage would constitute endorsement, but maybe in todays topsy turvy world of Democrat Party weirdness, I guess we cannot rule out their having a meeting in an absolute shit hole and/or 'pub bastion . . . .
