Scrabble? Really?
It's awesome to have a deeper longer running puzzle like this one, but scrabble just isn't in my repertoire

That's why the vowels were interchangeable... because they're all 1 point in Scrabble, and one of the groups, q and z are both 10 points... I never would have got that
If it wasn't for squishy mentioning the word 'wyth' that I found, we would still be sitting here trying to solve it.

For next time, keep in mind letters representing numbers based on old mobile phones. I bet you that will come up as a rule in one of the later games, if this hasn't been done yet, that is.
So these were the groups we'd found:
(b,c,m,p), (d,g (all combos tested)), (l,n,r,s,t), (h,v,w,y), (q,z) with f,j,k,x left checking against scrabble: vowels are 1 point l,n,r,s,t are 1 point d,g are 2 points b,c,m,p are 3 points h,v,w,y are 4 points q,z are 10 points and the remaining ones... f is 4 points j,x are 8 points k is 5 points Just for Tibs... I think it's a fantastic addition to the forum... and plenty more to come I'm sure from our illustrious overlord Tibs Just an idea Tibs... how's about doing a cipher challenge as well... a code to crack... cos that's what it felt like I was doing in this one and that would be perfectly suited to a bot game like this
That's the thing - I'm not sure it would be fair to everyone to make it so that only certain people can figure it out without resorting to using difficult computer knowledge. That leaves people like me out. I know nothing about algorithms or algebra or computer programming. So it really has to be kept on the level that can be solved by anyone wishing to play.
