Probably should do a little more research on target selection though.

Quote:The US bombed ISIS, but the Taliban are taking over
Quote:ISIS are believed to have somewhere between 700 and 1000 fighters in Afghanistan, and the global jihadist group has claimed credit for several high-profile attacks – but have failed to gain the local support that the Taliban has enjoyed. The Taliban, which is believed to number around 25,000 individuals, has been so successful that two of its former bitter enemies, Russia and Iran, have come to the table to "hedge their bets," according to Weinbaum.

The problem with the MOAB.
the production cost and the cost of the bomb totals to a billion and change.
If anything we should work on bettering ourselves as a country first.

26 Killed. How many more ISIS fighters were recruited because of the propaganda resulting from our continuous military interventionism?
Sorry, this was nothing more than Trump backing up his campaign promise of "if we have these weapons, why don't we use them?"
He said the same about nukes.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

92 killed and the number could rise, according to the Afghan government, although the US declined to comment and are launching their own investigation into the casualties.

Well, obviously it's grandstanding. The bomb did its job. The real question seems to be whether this was a military action with useful results, or a political statement, the effects of which aren't clear. Perhaps both?

In my opinion, it was both. Intelligence obviously identified it as an ISIS position, while Trump and his military officials saw it as an opportunity to prove that he is somehow 'tougher' than Obama.
Of course, that's not exactly a good thing for Trump considering one of his main promises during his campaign was pulling out of the Middle East or at least reducing involvement. He is bound to lose supporters over his recent behaviour.

Well, he has certainly pissed off his high-profile supporters around the world due to the whole situation that happened in Syria and his approval rating was already rather low. Even /r/The_Donald - a subreddit that was created to support him - has been experiencing infighting over it.

In general I get a feeling that aggression by America against people in Afganistan is pointless.
That's just a feeling though, I don't have access to the relevant military intelligence to know for sure.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
