This is a new law. 2009. Amazing , in'it ?

So, now what? An Irish Catholic pisses off an Irish Protestant by claiming the Catholics the only true Church. An Irish Protestant pisses off a Catholic by saying the Pope is the Anti-Christ. They will now take each other to court instead of butchering each other in the streets? Might be an improvement for Ireland.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

I have been insulted many times and I got over it, am I better than god??

Why, yes, if one considers existence "better". Big Grin

Quote:Appearing on The Meaning of Life, hosted by Gay Byrne, in February 2015, Fry had been asked what he might say to God at the gates of heaven.

Fry said: "How dare you create a world in which there is such misery? It's not our fault? It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?"

He went on to say that Greek gods "didn't present themselves as being all seeing, all wise, all beneficent", adding "the god who created this universe, if it was created by god, is quite clearly a maniac, an utter maniac, totally selfish".

The Irish Independent reported a member of the public made a complaint to police in Ennis in the same month the programme was broadcast. He was recently contacted by a detective to say they were looking into his complaint.

The viewer was not said to be offended himself but believed Fry's comments qualified as blasphemy under the law, which carries a maximum penalty of a fine of 25,000 euros (£22,000).

Yet again, a god so utterly devoid of power that it can't even take offence by itself.
Seems he's easily defeated by irony chariots.

The thing is were at a critical point in human history were the relevance of religion is really starting to show it is unnecessary and well down right  negative.
Looking at you  have science and all this progression meanwhile religion itself has done nothing more than to spread ignorance, hatred, lies, racism, violence etc.
This is point now were science has put god(s) into a proverbial corner as human understanding of the universe around us completely destroys man made religions.
26% of Americans are closeted atheists then you add in those who are verbally atheists that's a large chunk of the population damn well nearly 40+% of the population
and growing. You look at the EU the and and Ireland they have the catholic church ruling over them they  have religious rule and laws here we don't because were secular.
So you have countries that still have some religious laws and when people make fun of the fact religion is fucking stupid because 1. here is science 2. it's made up then you look again at critical point people will defend religion even with the facts thrown in their face. Again religion it's not good anymore for us more or less the  whole of human civilization because religion is a joke at this point steven fry is right he isn't in the wrong and he shouldn't be charged those laws themselves need to be non existent.

Religion it's a fucking joke in the face of science human understanding.

Hey, Irish religious people: Your god is an evil piece of shit and your main religious institution is a club for kiddie fiddlers and their enablers and protectors.

Fuck your god, fuck your Jesus, and fuck you!

Positing that God Almighty's itty bitty feelings might be irretrievably hurt by lewd comments could be construed as insulting God too.

Perhaps the wrong people were indicted ??

if humans have to stick up for a supposed existing being(s) that should be the cue for them
maybe said being doesn't exist if supposed being does exist the wrathful being(s) would have struck down a large majority of the worlds population
or at least smited the village idiot. Tongue
