Surly dog 1 day post anal surgery. Can't bite butt collar, tail wrapped to keep fur out of surgical zone, shaved leg for IV. What you can't see is the red angry anus with 4" diameter shave.

Our last puppy's analysis glands gave him so much trouble he liked going to the vets. I'm sure he understood the connection between expressing (a polite euphemism for squeezing the hell out of ) and pain relief. We eventually had them removed. He wasn't happy after the surgery either.
