If my dad is anything to go by.... I should never have a receding hair line! YAY!!
But, at 35, about 1/5 of my hair is now grey... so... there's a trade-off.

Research suggests the mothers side contributes to MPB too. But you'll probably be fine.

My grandfather on my mum's side did have a nice bald spot... oh well.... when it happens, it happens. It'll be the time to keep it short, short short and no need to pay to shorten it

I think, weirdly though, my hairline seems to be moving... forward, at the temples. I'm sure it's actually slightly closer to my eyebrows than it used to be at the sides. It's like I'm reverse-balding.
That's a well known medical condition called: scontinental drift.

Mine's holding the line so far. I heard that you should look at the males on your mother's side, and they all seem to doing fine so far

I have a distant female relative who went fully bald like a man, her other side of the family have the balding genes so aggressive and violent that it even took her hair.
With us, it's hit and miss. My Dad had some balding even at a young age, although it's not that prevalent in his family. My Mom's side of the family must have follicles of steel, they all have thick dense hair into old age (praying I go that way tbh, let's not do balding in my 20s... or 30s, thanks). I've had a fivehead ever since I was a kid, but it hasn't really moved backwards from what I can tell.

If you ever do start balding and it bothers you, just block DHT by taking stuff like Finasteride or Duasteride that will at least delay it for as long as you take the meds.
I've heard of guys getting themselves castrated in order to 100% stop baldness. Yeah...some guys actually went that far.
