He asked and I pick my battles  

lol, I remember when my son decided he wanted to go with saggy jeans. I'd throw some money at his mom and skip out on the shopping, 'cause that's something i really don't like. She, being her tolerant self, spent said ducats on jeans half-way down his thighs.

Boy, I lit into him when he came to my place the next Friday -- "WTF?!" etc etc. About a couple weeks later, we were on the phone, her and I, talking about this bullshit, when she said, "Goddamn, Darrell, let him do this while he's young." (Turnabout being fair play, it was the same argument I'd made when he wanted to grow his hair out).

Smart woman, she was. I shut up and got out of the way with my own preconceived notions.

He still looked like a knucklehead for a year or two ... but it was a harmless year or two.

This is the only forum I've ever encountered where there are so many beautiful people. I mean... everyone is lovely. I just want to high five everyone.

Should probably put yourself in that grouping, too ... just sayin'.

There's still a little too much hip and ass for them to fit properly. They never will again most likely because I'm not trying to get back down to high school weight.

lol, we don't ever get to go back, Summer. 'Tis the human condition, looking over our shoulders at who we used to be, and wondering why we cannot be that person again. The years add weight both physically and mentally.

You wear the years well, cross your fingers and hope it holds up, y'know?
