I felt safe there. Though there are a few poisonous creatures lurking around. The green viper i believe is the only one that is capable of killing an adult male. But most of those creatures stay away from people. The trails are well marked. I don't know if i'll take a child there. Its a cloud forest which is different from a rainforest in that it exist at a much higher altitude, its much cooler, and almost always rainy and moist. There is another cloud forest near by: Santa Elena. I can recommend a place to stay thats close to both. They can send you a private taxi that can pick you up from the airport or just about any other location.
