It's a 203mm field-piece, I believe. 14" doesn't have the same profile.

It's an 8" Army piece. Not the same as the 8"/55 on the Baltimores, but rather the Army's M115 8" howitzer. 8" = 203mm.

Funny fact. When I drove up to sign my son out for liberty, at one point on the road there was a yellow-diamond sign. Rather than "deer-crossing" with a picture of a deer, it read "howitzer crossing" with a picture of cannons:

Not my shot, picture from online. But I think it's the same spot.

Way, way back in the day.  Late '76 or very early '77.

What happened to the foot? Or were you going for matching bandanna at head and toe?

Actually had stitches on the top of my foot.  The wrap was to help keep my foot from flattening out and pulling them.

Still have that bandana...it's a bit thin and faded but then, so am I.

All you're missing is a bra burning in a trashcan and feminist hairy armpits.

First thing my niece noticed was the gun in the corner.

First thing oldest daughter wanted to know what if I still had THAT dictionary.  The one I made her look words up in...which she explained she couldn't do because she was a crap speller...I do still have that dictionary.  The gun wasn't mine.

Interesting how we all notice different things when looking at a single photo

I had concrete block book shelves back in the day. The lampshade looks familiar also. Ah memories.

Edit: On second look it appears that you had milk crates.
