Speaking from experience, I would rather go toe-to-toe with a poisonous snake than a colony of bees.
My uncle-in-law (is that even a thing?) lives in Norfolk. We do the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon there.

I got stationed here in Virginia Beach 7 years ago. My girlfriend's family lives in Kentucky. I love the drive through West Virginia. It's so beautiful. I have been wanting to plan a huge group camping trip. From what I can tell, there are some pretty sweet national parks worth checking out.
I'm one of those types of people who doesn't like pictures and my friends think its hilarious to photograph me while I am not looking.

I killed a snake in my backyard last spring. I wouldn't recommend coming to TN.
