It makes sense to me why you believe in this invisible God.
What makes you think God is invisible to everyone?

Quote:You sound like you've had some experience with sin, fear of death, you were cast into hell believe it or not. Not, but I see where your coming from.
I'm sure if you wanted to see Hell for yourself God would be happy to oblige you. just ask or if you are so bold as I was dare Him to show you. tell Him you will spit in his eye at your judgement and would be ruling hell inside a week.. then repeat this till he complys with your wish. lest you fear death... lest you fear your trip would be one way... That is what I did before I got to know God.

Quote:God can help focus you away from your own fears and problems, but what your not realizing is you are still afraid and lying to yourself for comfort.
ROFLOL
God is not a source of comfort.. maybe at first but once you move past the milk of the word God=Hard work, trials, testing what you think you know and what you think you are. almost non-stop.

Granted the rewards are great when you follow through, but little comfort is money in the bank when you feel like you always in a free fall that you have to will or reason your way out of.

Quote:I did that for years. Sometimes I still do that. Different coping mechanisms work, but God is a distraction from reality.
Good luck with that sport Smile
That is what I mean by trials.. dealing with real world problems in real time.

You have made a lot of accusation about fear and death. I'd like a citation or reference to something I said that shows I have a fear of death, or are you simply sterotyping/name calling?
Drich
You paint a shitty picture of god. So glad you got to experience hell and tell us all about it. I guess you are super brave and don't fear death. I just told god I would spit in his eye and I totally want to rule hell in a week. Fingers crossed.  Wink
I was a born-again christian for many years then I got woke.. and now life is better in so many ways. It's taking me time to see my value and find my voice, but the reward is liberating knowing my path is not dictated or controlled by fear of death and the unknown.  Casting off the shackles of religion is pretty fucking awesome. The beautiful people I've met on this forum have more heart and compassion than any group of people I've been apart of. So back off Jesus and followers, because this bitch is done with Chu.  Shy

Dirch's delusional rants are just amazing

In his deluded mind I would fight an undefeatable being. Try and reason with an unreasonable psychopath  . Thinks I think a great deal about a afterlife I don't believe in . And thinks that his testimonial wanking means anything and that I would make a request of a being I don't believe in. And insists that if god tortures me it will mean anything .If Dirch was ever an atheist no wonder he converted he sucked at it.
Seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy -- myself.

I am here to provide truth not give you the warm and fuzzies. If one is to follow God they need to know it is more than just warm feelngs.

No you wouldn't. Again that was my pre Christ Idea most of you hold as well. That judgement is the same as a trial. I was simply mocking one of you because he held a position of 'no fear.'

Indeed I did as do so many of you. Because infact I was a misotheist. Not an atheist.
