My Top 5 Pet Peeves
My Top 5 Pet Peeves (This week) :

1. Christian Rock. Stop it! It is not your music.

2. Half rate hummus. Get yourself to a good Middle Eastern Restaurant. This crap in tubs at the grocery stores is shit.

3. White Nationalists/ Supremacists. I am white. These assholes do not represent me or my family. My race - the human race- is certainly in danger. From these shitheads.

4. The debate over the Confederate Flag and Confederate Monuments. William Tappan Thompson - the Confederate Flags designer said this about it :

"As a people, we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause.… Such a flag…would soon take rank among the proudest ensigns of the nations, and be hailed by the civilized world as THE WHITE MAN'S FLAG".

It is about hate , not being a biker or digging Lynyrd Skynyrd. (I love me some Skynyrd by the way!)

5. Climate change deniers. The implications are clear. Civilization as we know it is at risk. Trump is the real hoax.

RE: My Top 5 Pet Peeves
My pet peeves tend to mostly be stuff more like... when people say "should of" or "could of" instead of "should have" or "could have" Tongue

I'd say the things you listed are more than merely 'pet peeves' to me. Especially the one about hummus! People who make second-rate hummus should be strapped to a rocket and fired into the sun!

To quote George Carlin: "I don't have pet peeves I have major psychotic fucking hatreds."

Another one of my peeves besides the "could of" thing... is when I say that I forgot what I was going to say and someone responds with their knee-jerk "Well if you've forgotten it then it can't have been that important then." UGH! People do sometimes forget important things!

My current pet-peeves HAD included dry and/or cracked lips.
But, this stuff has changed my life:

I will never, ever be without it. Ever. I've tried many, many things; Nothing's worked better.
Top-of-the-line, for only $2.69!

And, no...I'm not being compensated for this post.

5. Having to wear short pants due to the excesive hot weather. I don't mind people wearing short pants. I just think they look stupid on me specifically.
4. People who are chipper at work on a monday-morning and try to cheer you up. Really, god damn it. I'm miserable here, let me be. Let me be content in my impotent dismay;
3. Friends or family-members who are much richer than you. Not because they are better off, but because they seem to have lost all grip on just what a euro is worth.
2. People who eat meat but get sad when you talk about how veal is murdered baby cow. If you're going to eat meat, like me, you don't get to be sad about cute little chicks that get grinded up. You know how that stuff gets on your plate, it don't grow on trees.
1. People who think they are 'making a difference' by buying one or two products at a local farmer's market every other month and then delude themselves into thinking they are some enlightened guru-martyr whose lifestyle will save the planet while they turn up their airco and order in pizza before buying their airplane-tickets to go half-way across the world next holiday.

Those are the things that grind my gears Big Grin

Indeed! Do like civilized people and make your own Hummus!

Baby cow?... We do baby pork and call it leitão. I've never heard of an English word for it, so feel free to educate me.

A Turkish friend showed me his mothers recipe. No exact measurements but it involved a bit of water and lemon juice in the bowl , then the tahini. The tahini would almost turn white, and it was wisped until fluffy. Then the bean paste was folded in. I like a bit of garlic also.

Hey I can refuse to eat babies of an animal and get upset over veal. I'm totally cool with eating an adult cow but not so much in eating a calf that was chained so it couldn't ever walk to keep the meat tender.

Gonna seem like a real asshole here.
But the adult cows you eat don't lead good lives.

This...

Is not a fullfilling life for a cow.

The animals we eat get abused. Their entire lives. Be it short. Be it long.
It's fine if one doesn't want to think about it.
But if truly you get sad over how any meat at all got onto your plate, maybe you should concider becoming a vegetarian altogether. Just seems like a discrepancy in the mind to me, to be honest.
My best friend's a vegetarian. And I respect him for it. It's because he realizes what eating meat entails and since it goes against his principles he acts accordingly. I don't have those principles, at all, thus don't act like him. And he understands that of me. But the middle ground? That just seems strange to me, as well as to him.
But hey, that's just me. And whatever I have a problem with, shouldn't necessarily have to bother you.

I love eating beef. Mmm. That's the important thing to me Tongue

In all honesty... my not eating beef isn't going to make any cows suffer any less. I'll keep eating beef.

I've made the argument before and I'll make it again: Vegetarians or vegans who refuse to eat meat not because they don't like the taste but for moral reasons... are as illogical as someone who refuses to ever drive a car because it's bad for the climate.
