I have been enjoying BBC shows lately, since I cannot seem to find anything of real substance on 'Murican television.
One show has its season finale next week; Fearless
Quote:Emma Banville, a human rights lawyer known for defending lost causes, sets out to prove the innocence of Kevin Russell, who was convicted for the murder of a school girl 14 years earlier.
A new show that just started; In The Dark
Quote:As she grapples with pregnancy D.I. Helen Weeks must return to the hometown she loathes to help her childhood best friend, who finds herself at the centre of a media frenzy following the abduction of two girls.

I must admit I've been watching Marvel and DC superhero shows over the past couple of years.
Most are pure, unthinking, escapism.

Anyone hear about that Youtube Red series The Thinning? I mean, wouldn't it be possible to get people to stop fucking so much before it got to that point?
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

I came across it, but I passed on watching it.
Except all I found was an 81 minute long "movie".

A new show, Salvation, premieres tonight.
Quote:An MIT grad student and a tech superstar bring a low-level Pentagon official a staggering discovery--that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth.
This review does not look favorably upon the show.
Quote:
Salvation is pretty stupid. Even for CBS, it screams "summertime diversion." This is a show about an MIT grad student named Liam (Charlie Rowe) who has created a formula that can predict when a meteor will hit Earth.
So, just to be clear — this is a show about a meteor that is going to hit Earth — unless someone steps up and fixes the situation. That's it. There is no more, really.
Salvation is a summertime network drama that's not asking anything of you but to give up an hour of your time and lose it forever. In return, you get a low-grade familiar sensation that means nothing but dulls your life a little bit. That's your decision to make, not mine.

Going to check out the British Happy Valley.
Quote:Catherine Cawood is the sergeant on duty when flustered and nervous accountant Kevin Weatherill comes into her West Yorkshire station to report a crime.
It seems promising.

Okay, so Happy Valley was a bust. That show was putting me to sleep.

Midnight, Texas seems like it might be an interesting show to watch.
Quote:Midnight is a safe haven for those who are different, but with the presence of outsiders, the residents band together and form a strong and unlikely family.

Edit Reason: news*
)
Usually, it's just news, sports, C-SPAN/public affairs, or reality, but BB and Bachelorette have disappointed. So it's mostly YouTube shows for me.
