The Official Television Thread
RE: Otter's Official Television Thread
Still watching Clarice. Had forgotten about last week's episode until this morning. It keeps getting better with every episode.

Finally finished watching Travelers. Really great show.

Now onto The One.

Back to watching Gilmore Girls.

The only reason I can think for having missed this comedy gold of a show is that it first aired during my first year of college when I had more important things upon which to focus.

Just finished all 5 1/2 seasons of ‘The Rockford Files’. I think they did a much better than average job of maintaining quality all the way through. One thing that doesn’t make sense to me, though:

Why, oh WHY, didn’t Jim just take Angel out to the desert and leave him there??

The first cell phone makes its appearance on Gilmore Girls, season one episode ten, in Luke's restaurant where he has a no cell phones allowed sign.

Taking a short break from Gilmore Girls, where they drink entirely too much coffee, to watch the latest season of Paradise, PD.

On season four of Gilmore Girls.

Jared Padalecki in Gilmore Girls played a character named Dean.

He went directly from that show to Supernatural, where the character of his brother became the one named Dean.

Having watched Supernatural before I ever considered watching Gilmore Girls, I find young Padalecki's ill-suited for the name of Dean.

Imagine Padalecki on the set of the first season of Supernatural, answering to the name of Dean every time it was stated aloud.

Starting The Mandalorian. It's damn good.

Also, fun fact: in the Before Times, I took a Business Law course. One of the things we did before we got into the law (sadly, we didn't really do much legal analysis before shit got real) was ask and answer five questions. One of them was "what celebrity would you most like to interview?" My pick? Werner Herzog. If you knew anything about his career, you'd understand why. He's been a filmmaker for over half a decade, created many great movies (and has managed to make one film on every continent) and a wealth of bizarre and fascinating stories in his personal life (e.g. pulling a steamboat up a mountain for a movie [with methods actually more difficult than the actual event it was portraying], brushing off GETTING SHOT during an interview, breaking into China to film a scene that doesn't actually have any bearing on the plot of the actual film, Hypnotising almost the entire cast of one of his films, becoming the world's first Baby Yoda stan and even chastening the crew for even considering replacing the puppet with a CGI version [and without even having seen any of the films in the series beforehand, mind you], eating his shoes after losing a bet with Errol Morris, almost digging up Ed Gein's mother's grave and being stopped only by a flat tire, and starting his career by stealing a 35mm camera from the Munich Film School, which he claims he had "A natural right to," among MANY others.) Not one person in the class knew who he was. I wonder what would have happened if I said "he's the old dude from The Mandalorian."
