My question to pro-choice supporters

I don't understand why this is complicated. Take responsibility.

The woman can be irresponsible and opt out of parenthood via abortion, yet the man cannot opt out of parenthood?

@Chimp
No, he's willfully participating in a sex act.  Here we go again.

If a girl isn't on the slut pill, or doesn't make her partner wear a sin sin sock, then she willfully participated in the reproductive act.  She should take some responsibility.

Right! It's a private property issue. If she does not want to rent to a baby she can issue an eviction notice. If the man puts a down payment on a baby then he has signed a mortgage contract. Think of his sperm as an earnest deposit.

I somehow get the sense you back-pedaled against this on the next page.

Khem, somehow I get the impression you're an undercover theist just fucking with us. Otherwise you can't possibly be this disconnected from reality.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

Children need support. Nature doesn't really care about de jure equality, but I suppose the only real answer would be a precoital agreement, in writing, signed by both parties.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If the law allowed for men to just opt out, I'd require a signed agreement from everyone I have sex with. Kind of a mood killer if you ask me.

Doesn't have to be. The discussion and agreement could happen entirely separate from the intimacy, seems to me, just as a prenup is made well in advance of vows.

ETA: Note that in my previous post, I meant to write "equality", not "legality". I have edited it to that effect.

Hey, you have that right. You;d probably get takers if you drew up a contract stating that anyone who had sex with you also agreed to have a baby with you (you currently don't have too...huh, lol?).....but anyone who didn't like that fine print could opt out with full knowledge, and so there would be equality where now there is none.

@Thump.
It's true, nature doesn't care about equality. Nature doesn't care whether I skullfuck my neighbor either. Our laws do. Even if a guy could opt out there still wouldn't be full equality, he still couldn't force her to abort -or- to carry a child that was putatively "his", just more than there is now. To take an earlier analogy..she'd still be in the drivers seat...but if she was deadset on driving the car into a tree...he could tuck and roll.

@Astonished
Add that to the pile of strange ideas you have?
