I think CBS made a rather apologistic TV miniseries about Mussolini, starring George C Scott, 30 years ago.

I can deal with a similarly apologistic TV miniseries about trump, starring Antony Scaramucci, so long as the main character is shot dead and strung up by his heels for the public to abuse at a local gas station in the end.
