1000 years (just for fun)

RE: 1000 years (just for fun)
Can I have 2,000 years in the past?  The Middle Ages holds no allure for me.

Too churchy.

Future, no question.

Hopefully I could catch glimpse of some technology or methodology that didn't look like magic to me, and recreate the idea and profit when I get back.

Also, I want to see how hairless and weird dressing and equally brown everyone is.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Since we cannot interact, obviously the future to see new technology and then come back and do it sooner!

Yep, the future, for me. I'd spend ten or twelve hours furiously digging through lottery records.

Neither, 1,000 years ago sucked. I cant live without my TV and computer. But I also would not want to go 1,000 years into the future looking at all the global divisions and especially the Orange asshat now, I would not want to go into the future and live in a post apocalyptic world, if we have a nuclear war there would be chance we go extinct or at a minimum we get knocked back into the stone age. Wanting to go into the future would depend on a nuclear war NOT happening.

So I will stay right here in the current thank you.

Sign me up for the Way-Back machine Mr. Peabody. 1000 years in the past and I can kibitz with the the original Scholastics!

I'm not a historian so 1000 years back has little interest to me. A 1000 years in the future though...

Knowledge and technology don't increase at a linear rate - it's more like geometric. Look at the difference between 0 and 1000 AD. Then look at the difference between 1917 and 2017 - one tenth the time frame. Now extrapolate out 1000 years. Assuming no catastrophic event, there won't be any humans in 3017 - there will be a race of beings who have re-engineered themselves and more resemble what would appear to us as gods than human beings.

I think the choice of 100 years back or forward would be far more interesting.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Definitely the future.

Then I'd come back and say:

"Still no hovercars."

And I have no idea what Apple was thinking when they decided to remove the right mouse button from all their mice again.
