Well, I do have the ideology of the two main parties in the UK.

I'd say liberals are pretty centrist economically, so I guess you'd count as one if you agree on most social issues.
There are more than two parties.

There's a mighty big difference between your run of the mill "liberal" and an actual socialist.

But a socialist is still liberal, right?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

No.  Socialist ideology diverges as far as an ideology can diverge from liberal ideology on key points. They are diametrically opposed on issues fundamental, for example, to american governance and economy.

Fun fact, neo-cons and progressive democrats are both (purportedly) liberals. Not that you'd know that by watching fox, ofc. The definition of liberals by most red voters in this country is nothing more or less than "the other guys". A similar dynamic plays out with blue voters and blue media.

Nevertheless, as with most political categories, they can be combined (even with importantly contradictory designations) to create amalgam positions.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And of course you must factor in country political tradition . In Canada someone like Obama would be a conservative. And in times not so long ago liberals were the greatest opponents of socialism do to the fear they were communists trying to take over the country . Rev Tommy Douglas founder of the New Democratic Party (called the CCF at the time) was called a communist for proposing the idea of universal healthcare.

Yup. Like, in the provincial election we recently had in BC, the Liberal party was by far the most conservative party.

Yup. That was one odd election . And for the Liberals taken down right after being sworn in .  So an NDP- Green partnership be interesting to see how that works out . I already know the whole pipeline issues going to big focus . Also that whole crusade about getting money out of politics .

I was pretty happy with how it worked out, because I thought both the main parties were pretty corrupt. I ended up voting Green, thinking it was a throwaway vote, but in seems the greens actually are actually worth something now. Big Grin My first election, and certainly an interesting one.
