Oh yeah. The regulations put in place after Black Friday frustrated the banks no end. It wasn't until they had finally bought a President they liked that they were allowed to once again play fast and loose with our money.
I really hope you are not trying to paint both parties as the same. GOP started Reagan's age of deregulation. The party in power is not simply controlled by one branch of gov. Dems since then have been in the position of being held hostage and being forced to constantly compromise. That is not the same as wanting something.
If you look at the balance of power between the Senate, House, Executive and SCOTUS in the past 36 years the GOP on average has controlled our government longer. Really no different than looking at an NFL game and seeing the time of possession of the ball. Dems cant get shit done not because we don't want to, but because our party has been held hostage and forced to compromise causing the pendulum to move right. The GOP gerrymandering in that time has also not helped. The only thing democrats as voters can be blamed for is apathy at the local and midterm election levels.
Dems as voters want to get back to Wall Street regulations. We want to get back to anti monopoly concepts. We want livable wages that meet the cost of living. We want universal health care. We cant have that because the GOP controls the power and the minority time we do hold it, we get obstructed by the GOP.
There is only one party hurting us, the other party simply has not organized well enough to compete and defeat so we end up being forced to play by their rules.
