Fuck you all, I was confined to bed all weekend being ill.  I plan to hopefully organize watching it after work.

Of course, that's the crux of the story -- it's what elevates the book. If they got that in the film, I'll probably like it.

What I didn't like about the trailers was how Pennywise was given the Modern Horror Movie Treatment™ -- very fangy and monstery -- whereas in the book there was a strong undercurrent of sick humor to ole Bob that I liked. I know that sort of thing doesn't transfer well to trailers, but the story's strong enough that I'll keep my wait-and-see outlook and hope for the best.

Misread the thread title and thought it was a remake of E.T..... and then when Shell B mentioned the Losers Club I was like "Huh? Isn't this about that alien with the long finger?" lol.

My son can't wait to see this movie. He saw the mini-series and the older movie and is currently reading the book. He says that the book definitely goes into more of the origin of "it" than the mini-series. The book has over a thousand pages! wow!

Anyway, I'm not a fan of horror movies because I don't care much for gore, but I will read the book once he's done with it.
